Marsha A. Bush is a financial programs manager at the U.S. Department of Defense; America's oldest and largest government agency. The mission of the Department of Defense is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and to protect the security of our country. As a financial programs manager, Ms. Bush oversees more than $350 million in military sales between foreign countries and the U.S. Government. An expert in financial management, she deftly handles accounting and budgeting matters, and issues funding documents for U.S. military academies. In addition, Ms. Bush coordinates funding and research closings for government contractors.
Ms. Bush completed coursework in accounting at the University of Nebraska and has continued developing her skill set with real world experience in the course of her three decade long career. She augmented her value to the DoD by attaining a level III certification in international affairs which has allowed her to work in multiple areas within the department. The variety of challenges offered to her at Defense has proven to be the most rewarding part of the job. She credits her professional success to integrity, training and networking; she remains in contact with co-workers from various U.S. DoD organizations throughout the country, and is an active member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers.
