Marsha Bush has parlayed her education in accounting and experience in clerical work into a successful career with the U.S. Department of Defense. For the past 20 of her 30 years with Defense, she has been a financial programs manager after starting as a secretary. Ms. Bush's husband served in the United States Navy for 20 years and works on oil drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. She has experience working as a farm hand, bookkeeper, parts salesman, motorcycle mechanic, babysitter, clerk, secretary, accountant, researcher, budget analyst and financial programs manager. Ms. Bush enjoys reading industry-related publications, like Armed Forces Comptroller Magazine. In the future, Ms. Bush aspires to consult for private industry. She gives generously of her time and money to philanthropic organizations including the American Cancer Society and the Girls Scouts of the USA. Ms. Bush enjoys quiet time reading and cross-stitching, as well as fishing, baseball and spending time with her four grandchildren.
